Giants

The Silver Bridge, the Gleno Dam, and the Sampoong Department Store have a few common themes. Each was considered useful during their time. Thousands happily lived around and under their shadows, but one horrific tragedy ties them all together.

Unbeknown to the residents, these structures had giant flaws. They collapsed, claiming nearly one-thousand lives and hurting many more. The engineers had the tools to prevent the mistakes, but they failed. Errors were made at the cost of life and property.

In LOTK, King Adrasteia enters the story (The Blessing xiv-xviii). He is one of Meldon’s descendants and can control the four natural elements. Sahib invades his kingdom, and Adrasteia joins the battle late and overconfident.

Adrasteia had the weapons to win but dies with two of his children. He lost his kingdom and future. His pride cost many lives and devastated the generations that preceded him.

God provides every tool and weapon we need for any situation. We are the engineers of our lives. A poor decision that’s made in a moment of pride, confusion or uncertainty can be costly.

Our past and present decisions craft our futures, and maybe your current situation appears grim. Shattered dreams, broken homes and torn relationships can leave giant scars (Deuteronomy 5:9). We are our greatest weakness, but we serve a mighty God.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us (1 John 1:9). He is a God who restores (Psalms 23:3), and He will help you succeed (Philippians 4:13).

Whether you’re searching for God, new in Christ or a seasoned Christian, God is always a prayer away. He can forgive, restore and give you a victorious life. He still has wonderful plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11), but these promises only extend to His children.

“All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

1 Samuel 17:47
