About

Paul A. Candelaria

Paul A. Candelaria holds an associate’s degree in business, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in behavioral science from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. His academic training equips him to craft stories that are both emotionally authentic and spiritually instructive.

In 2010, Paul co‑authored Algebra I Can Do!, a math book published in four editions—student, teacher, and Spanish versions for both. He presented the program in schools and teacher trainings, demonstrating his ability to make complex ideas accessible. He later taught mathematics for several years, further honing his skills as a communicator and educator.

For a decade, Paul co-pastored a young adults group, guiding students through the challenges of faith, identity, and purpose. He also served as an evangelist, preaching in open‑air settings and speaking from the stage at book launches and ministry events. These experiences shaped his vision for storytelling as discipleship and laid the foundation for the genre he pioneered: Fantasy Didasko.

Paul’s formative years included extensive travel across Canada, Mexico, much of the western United States, Europe, China, Singapore, and the Bahamas. This global exposure broadened his worldview and enriches the expansive settings of his fantasy writing.

Beyond education and ministry, Paul is deeply rooted in his family’s Independence Ranch in Gonzales, Texas—recognized as the world’s leading hog hunting destination. As a guide, he meets thousands of visitors annually, and as a taxidermist, he has created thousands of art pieces now scattered across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China. These experiences reflect both his creativity and his reach.

Since 2012, Paul has published four books, including Legacy of the Kings, the opening volume of his six‑book saga. Through his blog he expands on the hidden meanings of his novels, guiding readers from story to spiritual insight. His platform reaches thousands annually, and he is committed to building Fantasy Didasko into a lasting genre that will disciple and entertain generations.

Away from writing and artistry, Paul treasures time with his wife Ashley and their two young children. Together they enjoy traveling, reading, movies, playing video games, and finding joy wherever life takes them.
